Derrick holds a Masters of Laws Degree and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from Makerere University, where he graduated on top of his class. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre where he also graduated top of his class.

Prior to joining the firm, Derrick worked with two top law firms in Uganda internationally ranked by IFHLR 1000.
Derrick has advised on numerous confidential transactions in the oil sector. He has also handled highly complex syndicated loan transactions. Derrick’s areas of practice include banking and finance, commercial law and corporate practice, revenue and tax law, intellectual property law, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Derrick is a seasoned lawyer known for handling highly complex transactions and strategic approach to high-stakes, high-profile cases. He has represented multi- national corporations and high-net-worth individuals.
He has written a number of papers and articles that have been widely published in Uganda’s leading papers.

Abubakar’s legal experience spans a wide array of areas, including corporate and commercial law, criminal law, civil litigation, land law, and family law. He has contributed to groundbreaking cases and petitions that have shaped Uganda’s legal landscape. He has handled landmark cases, and has vast experience in shaping policy and defending fundamental rights.
Prior to joining the firm, Abubakar worked with a top law firm and at the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda.
Abubakar has participated in a number of international conferences, including;

2. Digital Rights Litigation training by the East Africa Law Society.
